Kiriko Original Canvas Snake Tote, Harvest Tan, Large

This everyday tote is part of an exciting collaboration with local Japanese American artist Erika Harada, of Kimagureya. Erika specializes in katazome, a traditional Japanese textile printing process, and her beautiful designs are often inspired by our rich pacific northwestern landscape as well as her Japanese heritage. This design was commissioned for the 2025 zodiac year: the year of the snake. In Japan, it's considered lucky to pay extra deference to the current zodiac animal, whether by visiting specific shrines or buying themed decorations and charms. The snake zodiac often represents wealth, whether material or spiritual, as well as change and development. Keeping the snake close may bring you luck in these areas, even beyond the year of the snake.

People born in the year of the snake (1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001, 2013, 2025) may find snake charms especially lucky.

This piece features a charming illustration by freelance artist Erika of Kimagureya, known for her playful designs and expertise in traditional dyeing methods like katazome.

*The color and texture of leather straps may vary depending on what is available.
